Alleged Trump Assassin Identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks

A 20-year-old man from Pennsylvania has been identified as the suspect who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump at a political rally in the town of Butler.

The suspect, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was arrested by the FBI shortly after the shooting. Crooks is a resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, which is about an hour's drive from Butler.

According to the FBI, Crooks allegedly fired multiple shots at Trump's motorcade as it was leaving the rally. One person, a Secret Service agent, was killed in the shooting. Trump was not injured.

Crooks was charged with one count of attempted assassination of a former president of the United States. He is currently being held in federal custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

The FBI is continuing to investigate the shooting. No motive has been determined at this time.
