An Overview of the Bulgarian Motorcycle Federation

The Bulgarian Motorcycle Federation (Българска Федерация по Мотоциклетизъм, or BMF) is the governing body for motorcycle racing in Bulgaria. Founded in 1924, the BMF is a member of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and the Union Européenne de Motocyclisme (UEM).

Mission and Vision

The BMF's mission is to promote and develop motorcycle racing in Bulgaria. The federation organizes and sanctions motorcycle racing events throughout the country, from amateur races to international championships. The BMF also works to promote motorcycle safety and education.

History of the Bulgarian Motorcycle Federation

The BMF was founded on January 13, 1924, by a group of motorcycle enthusiasts in Sofia, Bulgaria. The federation's first president was Dimitar Grozdanov. In its early years, the BMF organized motorcycle races and rallies throughout the country.

In 1995, the BMF became a member of the FIM. This gave the federation access to international motorcycle racing events and allowed Bulgarian riders to compete in FIM championships.

In 2004, the BMF became a member of the UEM. This gave the federation access to European motorcycle racing events and allowed Bulgarian riders to compete in UEM championships.

Events Organized by the Bulgarian Motorcycle Federation

The BMF organizes a wide range of motorcycle racing events throughout the year. These events include:

  • Road racing
  • Motocross
  • Enduro
  • Trial
  • Supermoto

The BMF also organizes the Bulgarian Motorcycle Grand Prix, which is a round of the FIM Motocross World Championship.

Membership in the BMF is open to all motorcycle riders in Bulgaria. The federation offers a variety of membership benefits, including insurance, discounts on racing fees, and access to exclusive events.
